Day 30: Little Hands

I started to walk up the stairs to my study room, when I noticed crayons that seemed to be in a particular pattern. I then realized they were on every. single. stair. In the same pattern. With the blue tin at the top. I found it amusing.

Holly is only in this picture because she is hopelessly addicted to me and was waiting for me to discover sense, go sit in her throne, and give her a warm leg to curl up against. Not to mention the head scratching.

Day 29: When in Doubt...

...photograph the cat.

Sorry, Calleigh, but it's easiest to do when it's 11 PM and you don't want to have Fail #2 and another Doctor picture (or TARDIS picture). She's basically the most interesting thing at that hour.

I know the lighting isn't great, but I love her big eyes. She was in a bit of Mighty Panther Mode...and not phased by the camera because there was some great prey in the next room.

Day 28: Moss

This is for Hana. (And Much.)

Day 27: Fail #1

Sometimes, you really need a TARDIS.

For example, when you look at the clock at 12:17 AM and realize that you didn't take a picture.

I don't really have excuse. Yes, I'd been cleaning the kitchen for an hour and 45 minutes when I looked at the clock, but I was home that whole day so that doesn't really count.

Humph. Hopefully I won't have too many of these posts this year...

Day 26: Good News & Bad News

I don't know if you can really count supplements as "bad news" but your doctor telling you to eat dark chocolate in the AM? Definitely good news.

By the way, my plan is to post pictures in the mornings after I take them. So the date will generally be one ahead of when I took the picture.

Day 24: Walk Inswe Lcome

Finally got a snapshot of the sign that makes me giggle every time we walk by it. Plus, I get the gorgeous blue sky that accompanied the *60 degree* North Carolina weather. Booyah.

Nairam

P.S. Technical difficulties fixed. Now, to get back into the habit of getting onto the computer every day with the camera!

Day 23: Might and Mightiness

I introduced Holly the Mighty Panther of Might and Mightiness to the tallest window in the house. Holly the Mighty Panther of Might and Mightiness approves of the tallest window in the house so much, that she's figured out how to catapult herself to the top of the bookshelf all by herself. She watches the street, the lowly dogs, and the crunchable birdses.

(When Holly the Mighty Panther of Might and Mightiness is done overseeing her dominion, she jumps down and becomes Holly the Nai-Dependent and sleeps by me while I do Algebra and American History.)

Day 22: Tea

This is a tea box. It belongs to my sister. She got it in her Christmas stocking.

It made me laugh, so I grabbed the camera.

(By the way, Carolyn ALSO has her own tea box, though I don't know if she has her name and a smiley face on it...)

Day 21: Time Lord Laptop

My writing laptop is a completely free hand-me-down. It's slow, it's loud, it has no internet (HALLELUJAH!), and it freaked me out the other day by not starting up correctly. Plus the screen was wonky (it's what I was trying to show here, but it doesn't show up well). The color was completely messed up and the screen was spazzing.

But it has resurrected all right and is still working for me.

Whew.

I love you, ancient laptop.

Day 20: Whovian

Doctor Who. It alters the brain.

Kudos to you Whovians who know why my Physics notebook might say physics several times...

Day 19: Obsession

Reading 700 page books on a 150 year period for fun.

Oh, and buying the book, too.

Nairam

Day 18: Graphs

Life of an AP Econ student.

Day 17: The Next Step

The King's College Founders Scholarship--full tuition, 5 page paper, 7 minute presentation. Four winners. Have I gone mad?

Nairam

P.S. Yes, here they come. Posted late, but taken on their correct days!

Day 16: Tortilla

Eleanor's "walks" could very much be considered "rides."

I discovered my action shot setting works wonders on a moving photographer, a moving three-year-old, and a moving stroller.

Day 15: Time

Trying to get my sleep pattern better. Bit of a losing battle so far (don't look at when I posted this),but...well, I'm still fighting in it.

(And yes, I'm still having computer troubles.)

Nairam

P.S. Today's post will go up tomorrow, just to confuse things.

Day 14: R & M

Once on our walk, my mom joked that I had spray-painted this with my initials. As the another side has a "J" I said that I hadn't, but apparently Robin, Marian, and Little John had. Everytime I see it now, I see the "Robin/Marian light."

I'm not sure if these are supposed to be my versions of the characters, or not, considering I don't have a Little John/John Little character.

I'm still having problems with my computer, so though I'll continue to take pictures they might take longer to get up here.

Day 13: Shiny Leaves

I noticed the other day that we have some shiny plants in our front yard. Hence: shiny leaves. I might do another "photo shoot" with them since I don't have a picture I'm absolutely in love with; it was a bit chilly and I had other things to do.

I like this fairly well, though.

Day 12: About 4,200 Words

If you know me more personally, you probably know by now that my world has been blown upside down by the last piece of my novel's editing puzzle slipping down right where it needs to go.

I have an edited chapter 1 that I am actually happy with. Those dates are other attempts of mine to fix this chapter.

It's important to remember those dates.

To remember how long I've waited for this.

It makes it that much more special.

Plus, this picture shows up better on the computer than it did on my camera screen, so bonus.

It was a wonderful 354 days of draft 1-3. It's been a hard road since then.

But draft 4 is here.

It's finally here.

Day 11: Heart & Mind

I meant to post a picture that included my huge, ancient, clunky writing laptop, but when I pulled those pictures upon the computer they seem out of focus. So here's this instead.

My heart in a Kinko's box; my mind in a binder. Namely, Forest of Lies and Quintessence, two of my stories.

Take that how you will.

Day 10: No Trespassing

So, last time I went on a walk (yesterday), I very much regretted not taking my camera with me--there's a cool mailbox I'll have to get a shot of sometime. However, though I resolved to take my camera this time, the only picture I took is actually in my own yard. We didn't put this up and we don't know why it's there (it's completely IN our yard, so it's not for our neighbors...though people who can see it would have to already be trespassing in ours...).

But it's still kinda cool. ^.^  It's not as big as it looks with this perspective, by the way. And the black bar is my camera's cord. I'm too lazy to run back down there and retake. (Read: I have a real life, too.)

Day 8: Barn Kitties

I admit it: I almost forgot today. I did take this an hour or two ago, though.

Here is my counted cross-stitch that I've been working on almost all day. I should've told mom I needed a new blunt needle ages ago. For example, two years ago when I lost my original.

Or maybe I shouldn't have, since I can do it for hours on end. Must resist tomorrow..

Day 7: Thrones

No, I'm not always going to post pictures of my cat now. I was going to do some of my cross-stitch project I recently got back out and started working on it again, but I liked this one better.

Why'd I get it in the first place?

Well. My mom and dad bought 5 new pieces of furniture today--4 chairs and a loveseat--two of which go up in our "study room" off of my room, where my cat basically lives. Not 30 seconds had gone by before she was checking out the first one, and then she checked out this one too, plus the ottomans. She just climbed up, twisted around, and settled herself right down.

"Why, thank you humans. I was getting tired of lounging on beds. I appreciate these new thrones. Here is my stamp of approval." *dozes*

Day 6: Berries

I've been thinking for awhile I wanted to run outside and get a picture of these bushes--or rather, their bright red berries. They have been there since we arrived in November. I really wonder if they're going to be on those bushes for months and months on end. I don't mind.

I took several pictures, but I like this one best mostly because you can't see the side of a house or the driveway. That and sometimes the berries looked like they were made out of plastic. I also like the composition of it, if that's the right word at all (I have no idea).

I just realized all of the pictures I've posted so far have been side-side, opposed to up-down. Considering the amount of pictures I take up-down, I find that surprising. I'll have to remedy it!

Day 5: Constant Motion

The name of this day may seem a bit odd considering the picture, but if you knew HOW MANY blurry pictures I deleted of my kitty before I got this one (and after I got this one) it would make more sense.

So now you know.

Holly has a deep suspicion of the camera. Even if she wasn't tearing around the room chasing invisible prey, she still manages to avoid many good shots. I was surprised that she STAYED lying down with her EYES CLOSED when the INSTRUMENT OF EVIL was pointed at her. It may have helped that I stayed in my chair, zoomed in a little before twisting into an odd shape to get a shot at her without arising too much suspicion. Also, I turned all those nifty camera sounds off.  I swear she never really sleeps, the way she bounces back up at the slightest sound.

So, despite the uninspiring background, I am very pleased with myself about this picture.

Day 4: Revenge of the Calculator

IT'S COMING TO EAT MEEEE!

Hello, math. I did not miss you. And I'm very annoyed with how hard you are after only a ten-day break. There ought to be a law against that.

There's always tomorrow.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Day 3: Strength

I read Philippians 4 this morning: lots of powerful stuff. I'll be reading it again tomorrow.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13

Day 2: Confused Carolina

I took this while out with my parents and oldest younger sister and youngest sister on a walk. I would've probably framed it better, but they don't stop for my pictures so I have to run to catch up with them. And being lazy, I didn't want to run for longer than necessary.

Carolinian tree? It's January. Trees don't typically bloom in January. I know you can't tell in North Carolina, but it actually is winter.

Day 1: Anticlimax

It will probably go down as the worst New Year's countdown in my household ever.

We're on the NY1 channel watching the ball and counting down...

"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3..."

1.

Aaaand Dad's parental controls kick in and block us out of our cable because, you know, it's MIDNIGHT.

Because though by our clock this was taken in the new year my camera seems to think that the above was taken at 12/31/11 11:59, I also present to you what we saw as soon as dad hacked back INTO our cable to catch up on the festivities (my camera agrees this was taken in the New Year at exactly 12:00 AM):

2.

In other news, this was our first year counting down with New York really at midnight and NOT a re-play--we moved from CST to EST this year--which also means we couldn't play the great "set all clocks ahead an hour" trick on my younger siblings.

Day 1 down!
