Table at the college. I forgot about my camera while on the tour--probably because the conditions were pretty terrible (cold, windy, rain).
I took pictures of a marble-topped table that I thought was really cool, but they seem to have come out a bit blurry...so you all can have this one instead.

Explanation Part #1.
Explanation Part #2:
My good friend [Regano_the_bard] on Facebook:
"Arthur and Kay were about to unbridle the horses, and instantly the face of [Nairam], historical references in hand, brainy specs pulled far down over her nose, and with her very best "Lady Accuracy" look appeared in my mind. Thank you for that... I think.... Now I have to look up whether bridling would have existed in the second century -_-
Proof that I have a Robin Hood hat, and yes, I can look horrendous. (I've deleted the worst of the photos.) It took forever on the timed pictures to get it close to right, and the end I just went: "good enough." (Mostly because my little sister was getting ready for bed and it would've just been weird to continue.)

Yes, this is from page 150ish of England Under the Norman and Angevin Kings. It is ridiculous how much I underlined in this section on the administration of English counties, and how many stars (* = story help, if it's the time period of Forest of Lies and story idea, if it's before or after Forest of Lies and is an interesting event) showed up. Not surprising, perhaps, but ridiculous.

Um, yeah. Going-away present from family friends on the left (BBC Robin Hood), forest fairy figurine from Penny on the right.
And in the background a stack of my Robin Hood books (but not all), clay bird from the Czech Republic from another friend, and Robin's case. Not to mention my red hat.
I did remember the second day of the visit! The college is nestled in Old Salem, and has some buildings from before the Revolutionary war. Because of a big fire that happened, all the buildings in Salem were required to keep water buckets handy in case of another one.
You can actually see my reflection to the right here--the smudge of orange is my camera. :)

Yes, so...college visit. I've been to the campus before, so I wasn't gungho about taking pictures and...forgot. Until 11 at night when I was trying not to roll over all the time in my sleeping bag.
So, instead, best Doctor with best companion in best episode of the best series (whew!). Which, incidentally, I watched with my student hostess.
Since, whenever you miss a day of a photo challenge, you reeeeally could use a TARDIS.

This is my new cross-stitch pattern.
It's 20" x 15" or 360x270 stitches. OR 97,200 stitches. There are around 120 different thread colors to buy (that's the "Meeting Robin Hood" list you see there). There are 24 pages of printing paper of pattern. Granted, six of them don't have much on them. BUT STILL.
This is way, way bigger than any of my other cross-stitch patterns.
This is your fault, Calleigh.

Around 11 o'clock each morning, my room gets washed with some beautiful light: so I pounced on a Christmas present still hanging on my wall: crocheted candy-cane holder by my 10-year-old sister, complete with candy-cane.
In the background you can also see my bow, quiver, arrows, and box set of Lord of the Rings, which I enjoy probably more than I ought to.
I figured out after trying to get this shot several times, that my camera was still set on super-macro (because I put it on the setting ALL the time), which wold explain why it was having trouble focusing. (Gar.)
I still like this moment though, so up it goes. This is during a Hobbit reading by my daddy.
Yes, this is an oh-heavens-it's-11-quick-grab-the-camera-and-don't-take-another-picture-of-cat!
And that pretty much explains it.
I like this painting, though, it'll be going up in my room...sometime.

I recently got this notebook from a dear friend of mine--and she recently received mine, since I sorta sent it to the wrong address. I bought this "majestic hair flower" for myself in 2010 at a Renaissance Festival and bought one for her this year, with the same colors (because red is the best color they have!). So it's kind of like our presents for each other in one place, despite the fact I haven't seen her since June 2010. (Here's to June 2012, Penny!)
This notebook will be a story scribble place of some kind, because I am a terrible diary-keeper.

As if Robinhood wasn't good enough--ROBIN has a street.
Because, as a legend re-writer, Robin Hood is that legendary character that I love, and Robin is my character that I love (or, *coughobsessovercough*).
Plus they intersect.
P.S. My mom is awesome.

Mom bought pretty flowers. Pretty flowers sit on bathroom sink. Nairam takes pictures of pretty flowers. (Can you believe Nairam is a writer from this clumsy prose?)
The pot is actually next to the mirror, so besides seeing my camera and hands, it makes it look like there are more blossoms than there are.
I love The Great Courses. I rave about pretty much every one of their lecture series' that I've watched--and that's racking up. They have my number, so I get emails about sails about every other day and magazines about once a week. I'm used to dumping them in the trash basically right away, but this time the cover declared they had a new course--1066. I immediately freaked out and said they had made a course for me. Yeah, I claimed a course. It's only 3 hours long (6 lectures--most are 36 or 48), but I still want it.
This was a momentous enough occasion (and I only had a picture of Holly so far--obsessed, me?) that it received a photo shoot, which was actually pretty hard. I either had shadows or glare or bad angles. But I like this one.
1066 IS (will be?) MINE. (And if you don't know why that date is important, please, look it up.)
To avoid this becoming "366 pictures of Rachel's cat" I have gone with this photo for today. I'm finishing up this cross-stitch pattern very rapidly, because of my recent re-obsession. I took this picture earlier on January 8th: Barn Kitties, and this is actually a SECOND grey kitten that I hadn't even started when I took that picture. The bit of brown you see on the right here is the finished calico cat you see in progress in the background of the old photo.
You probably didn't want to know all that.
Ah, well. I'm really looking forward to getting my next pattern in the mail! And this is NOT kittens...so stay tuned. Because you will get pictures, never fear.
